Every one of us feels stressed from time to time.  Life and work throw so many challenges at us and, generally, we cope and stress is a positive force.

However, sometimes, for whatever reason, we are overcome and the result is an inability to cope, physical illnesses and depression.

Stress is nothing to be ashamed of, it is real and is a fact of life.  When it becomes too much we simply need help.  If you break your leg you would seek help without questioning the need to do so.  Why is stress different?  I believe it is because people see it as a weakness, not real, “all in the mind”.  The British “stiff upper lip” gets in the way of recovery.  Well, look at it this way, it would be an enormous weakness if you didn’t get your leg fixed so why is this a weakness if you seek help for stress?  It is a strength to put yourself back on the road to health and peace of mind.

The human body has an immense ability to cope and heal itself and we need to take advantage of that.  Reflexology helps you to overcome the physical and mental effects of stress by encouraging and enhancing you body’s own ability to cope.

Everyone experiences and reacts to stress differently.  The symptoms you experience are unique to you and reflexology works with you as the individual for the symptoms and feelings you have.

There is only one rule - do not try to cope alone.  Whether you see your GP, holistic therapist or seek the support of family and work colleagues you really must ask for help.  I promise you that you will be glad you did.
